New buses are on their way
The first of 55 new TriMet buses are set to arrive early summer. The buses are the first fleet purchase in three years and mark the return of an annual bus purchase program to refresh the fleet, of which 93% are funded by grants.

Last year I decided that since the 4th of July fell on a Monday it would be a great opportunity to create a “triple” marathon and half marathon weekend (the Firecracker Triple). A triple is defined by marathon runners as running three events in three days. It was a huge success and hundreds of runners came to Portland to run my two races as well the Foot Traffic Flat Marathon (or half marathon). Since the 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year a triple will not be available. But I have decided to bring my two races back to create the Firecracker Double on the weekend before the 4th of July.
